Village taxes Our municipal water system began with a vision in the early 1970s, when community leaders and residents came together to secure funding and build a reliable and safe water and wastewater system for DeTour Village. With strong local support and an Economic Development Administration grant, the project was completed to provide safe, metered water service to homes, businesses, and schools.
Today, we continue that tradition of excellence in water quality and service. In recognition of our commitment to innovation and community, the DeTour Village Water Department was honored as 2024 Water Utility of the Year by the Michigan Rural Water Association.
Sanitary sewer services available to most homes within the Village. Where sewer services are available, private septic is not allowed. Contact Water Department for hook up information.
Effective April 2026 for customers with standard 3/4” water meters.
