The DeTour Township Board of Trustees serves as the governing body responsible for overseeing township operations in accordance with Michigan law. Their statutory duties include adopting ordinances, approving the annual budget, managing township finances, levying taxes, and ensuring compliance with the Open Meetings Act and Freedom of Information Act. The board also appoints members to local boards and commissions, approves contracts, and helps guide land use and zoning decisions to support the township’s growth and public services.
Each member of the Board of Trustees is elected to a four-year term. Next election of all members will be held in 2028.
